Drama Program wins Multiple Honors at Globe Awards

The 圣安东尼奥学院 drama program swept the Alamo Theatre Arts Council Globe awards winning in almost every category for the play 的女继承人.

金球奖, held at the Woodlawn Theatre in 11月, recognized local drama productions for the years 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. 

The drama program staged 的女继承人 2020年2月. Set in New York City in the 1850s, it is the story of Catherine Soper, a wealthy but plain-looking woman who is caught between her grief-stricken father and a mysterious, 漂亮的西装. The play is based on the novel 华盛顿广场 亨利·詹姆斯.

Former theater coordinator 罗纳德·沃森 received four awards, including Excellence in Direction of a Drama. He shared an award with Nathan Thurman, technical director for the theater program, for Excellence in Production of a Drama. Watson retired from SAC in February 2021.

In addition to sharing an award with Watson, Thurman won Excellence in Lighting Design for a Play for 的女继承人 and a second award for Lighting Design for a Musical for 圣诞颂歌 at the Woodlawn Theater.

SAC students 福勒斯特Fraley, Leah Ingram, and 蓝宝石门德斯 were also honored for their acting.
